Just finished this piece and shipped off to the 2013 SAQA auction. It started as a photo of the nesting duck in our condo parking lot tree. And after a little bit of PhotoShopping and pixie dust, viola.

So what do the locals in a New England coastal community do when the summer people have gone and the snow is flying? The only thing they can do – they go skiing!

Here’s the 4th quilt in my marine theme. Will join my other quilts in a show at Crafters Quarters, debuting in February

I was pretty excited about going to Houston to meet my dear friends Theresa and Jane, and see my quilts in the SAQA exhibit. Then Super Storm Sandy hit and since I work for a New England utility, my vacation was cancelled. Theresa and Jane visited the exhibit and asked permission to take a photo of my quilts to send to me. They were denied. And like the true quiet mavericks they are, they got the shot anyway. Pictured here are Theresa and Jane in front of my quilts! Remember, well behaved women seldom make history!

Working on a new series of marine-themed quilts, from the photos of my summer Victory Chimes schooner trip. Loving how it’s evolving!
